We are very excited to be writing this guest post for NRichieNews as we are a huge fan of the site here at Claret Showroom and follow religiously. We were super excited at the office this week when we received a sneak preview of the House of Harlow 1960 SS12 Collections from the US headquarters. Over the next few weeks Nicole Richie’s collections will start to arrive at the showroom. These will include the House of Harlow 1960 sunglasses, handbags, shoes and Winter Kate clothing. Each season the collections are always greatly anticipated amongst the Claret team and we are super excited for the Launch of the House of the Harlow 1960 Hand bag range. We have already picked out our favourites and predicted the best sellers ahead of selling.
After her successful launch of the House of Harlow 1960 jewellery & shoe lines, Nicole Richie is expanding on her design prowess and chic retro jewellery creations to branch into a full line of hand bags with a similar vintage yet classic aesthetic. The new line, created in partnership with brand owner and manufacturer Majestic Mills, is comprised of approximately 14 pieces. "Handbags have always been a part of the equation since we first launched the House of Harlow 1960 Brand.” Nicole recently shared with WWD. “The collection is quite small in terms of the styles we are launching with. I wanted to make sure that each piece is special and then be able to grow it slowly and organically season after season.”
The collection is inspired by vintage shapes and ranges from clutches to totes to carry alls. This latest project has Richie’s personal style stamped all over it. With fringe details, studs, velvet, jaguar hardware, and pony-hair you won’t be disappointed. Richie’s vision was to create handbags that were both a mix of Lux and casual. We are excited to share with you the first images to be released from the brand new handbag collection.
Over the last few years Nicole Richie has been very busy building her empire. With four seasons under her belt Richie has now established herself in the fashion world whilst carving out her own niche in the market. While Winter Kate is comprised of Fringed and Velvet Kimono jackets, Maxi dresses and floral bed jackets, House of Harlow 1960 focuses on tribal and rock-heavy costume jewelry, Ethnic Quirky sandals, and chic Vintage inspired sunglasses.

House of Harlow 1960 is known for Nicole Richie’s unique signature style and her latest collection doesn't disappoint. Never one to blend in with the crowd, Nicole’s Spring 2012 footwear collection conveys her love for ancient cultures and artisan details.
For the SS12 collection Nicole wanted to explore past traditions and translate their stories into wearable fashion. Inspired by the enchanting Souks of Marrakech, as well as Egyptian Sarcophagus and the serpents that guarded them, the feminine qualities are juxtaposed by intricate woven details, saturated colours and hardware that brings the old world to present day. The distinct pieces in this collection will surely set any woman apart from the masses, letting her individuality shine.
